Test the sleeping setup before arrival
Open the sofa bed or unfold the guest bed completely, following its instructions. Check that bedding fits and that the route to the room's exit remains usable. Move any table that blocks access rather than assuming the guest can step around it in an unfamiliar room. Prepare clean bedding according to its care labels. If the space also serves as a living room, decide in advance where the displaced cushions and daytime objects will go overnight.
Give belongings a defined place
Clear a section of shelf, a hook or a stable luggage space rather than leaving the guest to balance a bag on the bedding. Provide a place for a glass and a light they can operate from the resting position. If charging is available, show the ordinary accessible outlet or approved charging setup without running leads across the walking route. Keep your own stored belongings out of the small area you have offered so the guest does not feel they are intruding.
Explain the home without overdoing it
Show the guest the bathroom route, the towel location and how to handle the window or blind. Discuss morning use of the shared room so neither person has to guess when to fold the bed away. Offer a little choice over spare bedding if you have it, without making claims about what everyone will find comfortable. A useful guest corner is largely about clear arrangements; a decorative tray cannot compensate for nowhere to put clothes or uncertainty about the household routine.
