Rehearse reaching for the bottle
From the normal standing position, reach toward the proposed location without twisting into the shower screen or stretching across the controls. Consider everyone who uses the shower, rather than choosing a height for one person only. Check the open and closed door or curtain positions. A corner shelf can look discreet yet interfere with an elbow or become hard to reach. Use removable markers on the wall to compare a few positions before purchasing hardware.
Check mounting and bottle clearance
Follow the shelf manufacturer's instructions for the wall surface, installation method, curing time where applicable and load limit. Do not assume a rental wall or textured tile suits an adhesive fitting. Measure with the tallest bottle in place, including the movement needed to press its pump or lift it out. A second tier should not turn an everyday bottle into a tightly wedged object. If installation suitability is uncertain, ask the property owner or an appropriate installer.
Keep the shower selection small
Store only the products currently used in the shower, with refills elsewhere according to their labels. Choose a design that lets you see and clear collected water, and follow its cleaning instructions. If a product repeatedly falls or a bottle blocks the drain openings, reconsider the layout instead of adding more pieces. Test the arrangement with an ordinary shower. Good placement is noticeable in use because you can reach, replace and clean things without thinking about the shelf.
