Look at the towel after use
Hang the towel as you normally do and check whether it is spread out or folded into a thick bundle. A decorative ladder may hold several towels but can leave them overlapping. Choose a place where the towel can open without blocking a door or touching the floor. Follow the towel's care guidance for washing and drying. The best-looking folded stack is irrelevant to the damp towel you use every morning.
Assign spaces to people
In a shared bathroom, separate hanging positions prevent uncertainty about whose towel is whose. Use location or a simple name marker rather than relying on everyone remembering a changing color scheme. Check the hooks or rail with full-size towels in place before buying more. Hardware should be installed according to its instructions and appropriate for the surface. If one rail cannot hold the household's daily towels without bunching, additional storage baskets will not solve the drying problem.
Put spares somewhere genuinely dry
Store clean towels only when fully dry, and avoid cramming the whole spare supply into the steamiest corner. A nearby bedroom or hallway cabinet may be more suitable than an open basket beside the shower. Keep a modest, reachable working stack in the bathroom if conditions allow. Rotate the stack when clean towels return from washing. If stored towels repeatedly feel damp, look at the room's moisture and storage location before changing the folding style.
